Champions League results: 3 November 2026 to 4 November 2026
Champions League match reviews: 3 November 2026 to 4 November 2026
Como won 9-1 at Lens. Douvikas scored a hat-trick inside 57 minutes, Paz scored one and made two, and three Como substitutes scored after coming on, the widest margin of a matchday that produced 70 goals.
Matchday four of the league phase, played on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 November, brought eight home wins, nine away wins and one draw across eighteen games, with four dismissals, one own goal and three penalties scored. Tuesday's nine games produced 26 goals and Wednesday's 44. Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid kept their records perfect: Paris Saint-Germain scored four times in the first 17 minutes on the way to a 6-0 win at Villarreal, and Real Madrid trailed 2-1 at AEK Athens with 15 minutes left before winning 3-2.
Three of the five English clubs won. Manchester United were 2-0 behind against Roma and won 3-2, Matheus Cunha scoring twice and then being sent off; Arsenal won 2-1 at Slavia Prague; and Manchester City won 3-2 at RB Leipzig with a goal from Erling Haaland on 78 minutes. Liverpool led twice at Fenerbahçe and lost 3-2, and Aston Villa's 100 per cent start ended with a 3-0 defeat at Barcelona.
Full time
Galatasaray2-0Stuttgart
Aleksey Batrakov scores twice in three first-half minutes and Galatasaray hand Stuttgart their first league-phase defeat
Batrakov settled it before Stuttgart had found their footing. On 12 minutes Sallai's cross came back out to him just outside the box and he drove it in; on 15 Sánchez picked him out with a low pass from deep and he slid it between Bredlow's legs. Chris Kavanagh had already shown Karazor a yellow card in the second minute, and Sebastian Hoeneß took him off on 18.
The visitors had the better numbers and nothing to show for them: 1.77 expected goals to Galatasaray's 1.01, five shots on target to four, and a Leweling shot that struck the far post and then the near one before bouncing clear. Führich did curl one into the far corner, but Undav had strayed offside earlier in the move. Galatasaray are 18th on six points and Stuttgart 14th on seven.
Issa Doumbia scores on 59 minutes and Sporting win a day after sacking their head coach
Sporting dismissed Rui Borges on the Monday and won on the Tuesday. Tiago Fernandes, in interim charge after one training session, watched Doumbia finish past Riznyk on 59 minutes at Stamford Bridge, where Shakhtar are staging their home league-phase games while Chelsea sit out Europe. Shakhtar last played a game in Donetsk in 2014.
Shakhtar had more of almost everything except the goal: 14 shots to 11, 1.96 expected goals to 1.30, seven corners to two. Kauã Elias lifted a close-range chance over the bar before the break and was denied by Rui Silva after it, while Sporting cleared the ball 24 times to Shakhtar's seven. Sporting are tenth on nine points; Shakhtar are 21st on four.
Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer score in the second half and Bayern Munich stay unbeaten with a 2-0 win at Atlético Madrid
Bayern Munich won at the Metropolitano without Harry Kane scoring. Kane, playing his first European tie as the Ballon d'Or holder, had scored in each of his previous 10 appearances and had the chance to draw level with the Champions League scoring-run record held by Cristiano Ronaldo. It ended here, with an acrobatic effort sliced wide and a low drive off target among his attempts. The first half was goalless, and for the 18-year-old Lennart Karl it was one to forget.
He made up for it nine minutes into the second. Karl crept in behind Robin Le Normand, stole the ball off him and chipped Jan Oblak. Diego Simeone sent on Lookman, Lee Kang-In and Koke on 59 minutes, taking off Sørloth, Baena and Le Normand, and it changed very little. On 74 Kane found Laimer in space and the shot went in high over Oblak. Oblak also pushed a deflected Upamecano effort on to the crossbar, so the margin could have been wider.
The numbers were one-sided without being a rout. Bayern took 19 shots to Atlético's nine and built 1.77 expected goals to 0.83; they made 636 passes to 448 and won 25 tackles to 17. Ten of their shots came from outside the box, a side content to keep asking the question. René Maric's team have now gone four games unbeaten in the league phase. They are 13th on eight points, the only unbeaten club outside the top eight, and Atlético are 23rd on four.
Lamine Yamal scores early, Raphinha scores twice after the break and Barcelona end Aston Villa's 100 per cent start
Aston Villa arrived with three wins from three and left with a lesson in what one loose pass costs at this level. In the seventh minute João Gomes swept a nervy ball across his own box and Lamine Yamal curled it in, a 13th goal from 15 games for him. Villa did not fold. Cash and Lindelöf both had shots deflected behind, Manzambi dragged one wide and then made Joan García work, and for most of the first half this was an open, honest game that Villa could have drawn level in.
The second half took that away. Seven minutes after the restart Raphinha drove low, the ball took a touch off Pau Torres and Suzuki was wrong-footed, Fermín López credited with the assist. Unai Emery sent on Barkley, Goretzka and Mbaye together on 62, and two minutes later Raphinha finished from close range after João Cancelo had done the hard work down the left. Suzuki kept out Gordon, and Goretzka's header grazed a post as Villa chased something to take home.
Barcelona put eight of their 16 shots on target; Villa managed one from nine, and Suzuki had to make five saves to García's one. Expected goals finished 1.96 to 0.72. Villa won the corners eight to four and the duels 51 to 49, which counts for less when the shots go elsewhere. It was Barcelona's first clean sheet in Europe since April 2025, after 18 Champions League games without one. Barcelona are fifth and Aston Villa sixth, both on nine points.
Bodø / Glimt and Lille share a goalless draw in Norway
A night for the patient. The first half brought three shots, all from Lille and one on target, and the second was only a little livelier. Bodø / Glimt finished with four shots, every one of them on target, Lille with nine and two on target, and the expected-goals totals of 0.50 and 0.57 describe a game in which neither goalkeeper was really stretched. Olivier Giroud came on for Lille on 70 minutes and found nothing to aim at.
The draw ends Bodø / Glimt's run of six straight home wins in Europe, a sequence whose victims included Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Manchester City. Lille came north after three Champions League defeats in a row, the latest a 4-2 loss at home to Galatasaray, and Davide Ancelotti's side are still waiting for a win in this competition. Bodø / Glimt are 25th on four points, one place below the play-off places, and Lille are 35th on one.
Spence has a hand in the first two goals and Inter Milan win 3-0 at Feyenoord
Inter Milan came to Rotterdam carrying two kinds of bruise: a 3-1 derby defeat by AC Milan on the Saturday that ended their unbeaten start in Serie A, and only three points from their first three Champions League games. Spence treated both. Inside eight minutes the England full-back slipped in Yann Bisseck, who bent a lovely finish in from just outside the box.
Spence was involved again on 34, his shot deflecting kindly for Esposito to head in from close range. Feyenoord had more of the ball, 53 per cent, and sent in 19 crosses to Inter's 10, but Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side never made the possession count. Nine minutes into the second half Piotr Zieliński ran across the Feyenoord box from Barella's pass and bent the third beyond Tjark Ernst, and Esposito had a second tap-in ruled out for offside.
Inter put six shots on target to Feyenoord's two, although the expected-goals gap was narrow, 0.92 to 0.71, which says Inter took their chances rather than made a great many. Spence, a Tottenham player until August and part of the England squad that reached the last four of the World Cup, was the difference down the right. Cristian Chivu made two changes on 57, Bonny and Mkhitaryan on for Thuram and Çalhanoğlu, and by then the game was gone. Inter are 15th on six points, Feyenoord 32nd on three.
Kasper Jørgensen scores twice and LASK beat Slovan Bratislava 4-0 for a second straight Champions League win
LASK did most of their damage from set pieces. Jørgensen, a wing-back, headed in from a corner on 19 minutes and whipped a free-kick into the bottom corner on 37, and Ljubičić bundled in a third from another corner just before half-time. Three minutes after the break the captain, Horvath, sent Adeniran away down the left and the American beat Popović from a tight angle.
The figures were grim reading for Yaya Touré: 29 shots to seven, 44 touches in the Slovan box to 11, and 4.69 expected goals to 0.47. Slovan made 31 clearances and still could not keep them out. LASK, beaten at home by Liverpool on their way to two opening defeats in their first Champions League campaign, have followed a win at Sporting with this. Slovan have lost all four and conceded 17. LASK are 16th on six points, and Slovan are 36th and last.
Manchester United trail 2-0 at half-time and win 3-2, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice and then being sent off
For an hour this looked like the night Old Trafford finally turned on everybody. Roma scored twice in six minutes, Soulé on 11 from Rodrigo Mora's pass and Malen from the spot on 17, and the open protest that had begun with green and gold balloons as the teams walked out grew louder: green tennis balls on the pitch, and chants aimed at the Glazer family, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Jason Wilcox. Carlos Baleba then pulled a hamstring early in the second half and was replaced by Tielemans on 51.
Bruno Fernandes started the recovery on 58 minutes with a penalty he had to take twice, a Roma player having encroached on the first. Michael Carrick sent on Lacey and Martínez on 75. Before the equaliser Mbeumo hit both posts with one shot, and on 83 Matheus Cunha punished a Balerdi error to equalise; three minutes later he scored again from an acute angle, Lacey supplying the pass. Cunha was booked on 87 and sent off at 90+1, and United held on with 10 men.
The comeback was not a fluke of the closing stages. United finished with 15 shots to Roma's seven, 30 touches in the Roma box to eight and 2.72 expected goals to 1.53, and they won 69 duels to 45. It ended a run of nine games without a win, and whatever it means for Carrick, it changes the conversation. United are 17th on six points and Roma 20th on four.

Paris Saint-Germain score four times in the first 17 minutes and win 6-0 at Villarreal
Some Villarreal supporters were heading for the exits before the 20th minute, and it is hard to blame them. João Neves struck from close range on nine minutes after a corner was not cleared. On 12 Gulácsi gave the ball away with a poor pass out and Doué finished the move; a minute later Villarreal lost the ball playing out again and Mayulu beat the goalkeeper. Fabián Ruiz made it four on 17, the ball worked back to him inside the box.
Every one of those goals began with a Villarreal mistake at the back, and Paris Saint-Germain do not need the help. Ruiz added his second five minutes after the break with a neat touch to send his marker one way before finishing, and on 78 the 17-year-old David Boly, on as a substitute, ran down the flank and saw his shot deflect in off a defender's leg.
The visitors had 71 per cent of the ball, 742 passes to Villarreal's 304, and put 12 shots on target to two. Gulácsi made six saves and still conceded six. Expected goals of 2.69 to 0.66 undersell how open the home defence was in that opening spell. Luis Enrique's side have now scored four or more against Barcelona, Manchester City and Villarreal in this competition. Paris Saint-Germain top the table on 12 points with a goal difference of plus 15; Villarreal are 28th on three.
Real Madrid trail 2-1 with 15 minutes left and win 3-2 at AEK Athens through Kylian Mbappé and a stoppage-time Federico Valverde strike
José Mourinho's Real Madrid went to Athens chasing a fourth win in four and spent most of the evening being made to earn it. Aboubakary Koïta put AEK in front on 12 minutes, set up by Luka Jović, with a powerful drive. Jude Bellingham levelled on 32 with a back-heel across the face of goal from Cucurella's pass, and at 23 he is now the youngest man with a goal in each of seven straight Champions League seasons, a record he took from his team-mate Mbappé.
AEK kept going, and on 75 minutes they were ahead again. Pilios blocked an Mbappé shot at one end, then sprinted the whole way upfield and finished at the near post, Koïta supplying the pass. Three minutes later Mbappé met Dumfries' ball at the far post to equalise, and in the second minute of stoppage time Valverde, on since 67, hit a long-range shot that settled it, Brahim Díaz with the assist.
On the balance of play Madrid had earned it. They had 70 per cent of the ball, 24 shots to nine and 44 touches in the AEK box to 14, and their expected goals came to 3.35 against 0.87. AEK cleared the ball 33 times and Brignoli made five saves. Koïta's red card, logged at 90+5, came as the home side's frustration spilled over. Real Madrid are second on 12 points, behind Paris Saint-Germain on goal difference, and AEK are 29th on three.
Fenerbahçe twice come from behind and beat Liverpool 3-2 with three goals from Greenwood, Brown and Muriqi
Dirk Kuijt, who played for both clubs, is minding Fenerbahçe until Emre Belozoglu takes over permanently, and his short stay now has its night to remember. Liverpool, with five changes from the weekend defeat by Arsenal and Barcola leading the line, went ahead on 25 minutes when Nyoni's volley took a touch off Peprah Oppong and beat Ederson; it was Nyoni's first Liverpool goal, and he is 19. On 29 Greenwood's free-kick deflected off Jacquet and past Alisson Becker.
Andoni Iraola sent on Gakpo, Isak and Wirtz in the 66th minute and the first two combined at once, Isak heading in from close range on 69. On 73 Gakpo got his head to Kanté's cross, Alisson was left stranded and Brown had a tap-in; on 79 Brown's cross was not dealt with and Muriqi, a substitute for Lukaku, headed into the corner.
Liverpool had 68 per cent of the ball, 42 crosses and 35 touches in the Fenerbahçe box to 17, but Fenerbahçe made 31 clearances and edged expected goals, 1.70 to 1.57. It was Fenerbahçe's first win of this league phase, and it ended Liverpool's 100 per cent record in it. Liverpool are eighth on nine points, holding the last of the automatic places on goals scored, and Fenerbahçe are 19th on five.
Karetsas, on as a substitute after 34 minutes, scores the winner as Borussia Dortmund beat Real Betis 2-1
Guirassy went off injured after 34 minutes and Karetsas came on, and the substitute ended up deciding the game. Fábio Silva gave Dortmund the lead four minutes into the second half. Manuel Pellegrini sent on Isco and Aitor Ruibal on 62, and Ruibal equalised on 67 from Ezzalzouli's pass, but on 72 Fábio Silva turned provider and Karetsas finished.
Dortmund were the better side by a distance on the numbers, 2.58 expected goals to 0.82 and 15 shots to 11, in a scrappy game with eight bookings. Both clubs now have nine points, Real Betis 11th and Dortmund 12th, separated only by goals scored.
Douvikas scores a hat-trick and Como win 9-1 at Lens, with three substitutes scoring
Como scored nine goals away from home in the Champions League, and the number still looks like a typing error. Douvikas opened the scoring after seven minutes from Perrone's pass and added a second on 32, and Paz, set up by Douvikas, made it three before half-time. Kempf and da Cunha, the latter from Paz's pass, scored in the first eight minutes of the second half, and Douvikas completed his hat-trick on 57, Paz again providing.
Cesc Fàbregas then took off Paz, da Cunha and Luis Milla on 58 and Douvikas on 61, and three of the four substitutes scored: Liberali on 62, Baturina on 69 from Liberali's pass, and Papaccioli in the first minute of stoppage time, Liberali again the provider. Aguilar's goal on 65 minutes, from Thauvin, was all Lens had to show.
Como put 12 of their 18 shots on target and nine of those 12 went in. Expected goals were 4.27 to 0.77, which tells you the finishing was ruthless rather than that the chances were absurd. A side that beat Manchester United 4-1 last time out in this competition have now scored 19 goals in four league-phase games and sit fourth on nine points, with the best goal difference outside Paris Saint-Germain, plus 13. Lens are 33rd on three.
Seys sets up both goals and Club Brugge win 2-1 at PSV despite facing 27 shots
Club Brugge were outshot 27 to 10 and won anyway. Tresoldi scored after 25 minutes from Seys' pass, Sano equalised for PSV on 54, and on 65 Seys supplied Carlos Forbs for the winner. PSV had 49 touches in the Brugge box to 27 and 2.88 expected goals to 1.73, but Brugge cleared the ball 36 times and Sommer made seven saves.
Brugge are ninth on nine points, level with eighth-placed Liverpool on points and goal difference and behind only on goals scored. PSV are 24th on four, in the last of the play-off places.
Porto score three times in the last 20 minutes to beat Napoli 4-1, who finish with ten men, for their first league-phase win
Michael Oliver had shown three Napoli players yellow cards before Scott McTominay was booked on 36 minutes, and Vergara's came in the very first minute. Bednarek put Porto in front on 11 from Gabri Veiga's pass, and McTominay equalised two minutes before half-time. The game stayed level until Francesco Farioli's changes worked: Giménez, on at 67, set up Gabri Veiga on 71, and Hwang In-Beom, on at 78, laid on Kiwior's goal on 80.
Rafa Marín was sent off on 88 and Samu Aghehowa scored a penalty on 90. Porto had 19 shots to 11 and 2.71 expected goals to 1.29. It was their first win of the league phase and lifts them to 26th on three points, a place above Massimiliano Allegri's Napoli on goal difference.
Erling Haaland scores on 78 minutes and Manchester City win 3-2 at RB Leipzig after being pegged back twice
Manchester City arrived after a bad run in England, league defeats by Brighton and Aston Villa and a League Cup draw with Brighton among their last five games, and they left with three points from a game they never quite controlled. Their opener was a gift: Lukeba turned the ball into his own net on 37 minutes. Leipzig levelled four minutes after the restart through Baku, set up by Gruda.
Enzo Fernández restored City's lead on 58 from Ndiaye's pass, and again Leipzig answered: Nkunku, on since 57, set up Nusa on 61. Enzo Maresca sent on Doku for Foden on 64, and on 78 Elliot Anderson found Haaland for the winner. City then brought on Allan, Bouaddi and Kovačić on 83 to see it out, and Leipzig picked up four yellow cards to City's two.
The figures were City's in the usual places, 65 per cent possession and 675 passes to 361, and the expected goals, 2.23 to 0.80, agree. But Leipzig had more shots, 14 to 12, and more on target, six to five, which is not what a comfortable away win looks like. City are seventh on nine points, inside the top eight on goal difference; Martín Demichelis' Leipzig are 30th on three.
Madueke and Viktor Gyökeres score in the first half and Arsenal win 2-1 at Slavia Prague
A year to the day after Arsenal won 3-0 at Slavia Prague, they were back and in front inside nine minutes, Madueke scoring from Gyökeres' pass. Gyökeres got one of his own on 38, Mikel Merino the provider, and at half-time the game looked done.
Slavia did not accept that. Jindrich Trpisovsky changed two players at the break, and the hosts finished with 17 shots to Arsenal's 12, six on target to five, and 2.29 expected goals to 1.49. Mikel Arteta replaced the booked Konsa with Cristhian Mosquera and Eze with Tzolis on 62, then sent on Timber and Ødegaard on 78. Rice was booked on 68. Nowak finally scored for Slavia on 90 minutes, from the substitute Jurásek's pass.
On those numbers it was closer than the half-time score suggested. Arsenal are third on 10 points, unbeaten in four league-phase games, two behind Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid at the top. Slavia are 34th on one point.
Viking recover from an early goal down to beat Sabah FK 4-1, who finish with ten men, for their first league-phase win
Sabah FK led after 11 minutes through Mbina, and Botheim levelled on 27 from Kristoffer Haugen's pass. The second half belonged to Viking: Tripić scored on 69, Sabah lost McCarthy to a red card on 77, Falchener added a third on 81 from Tripić's pass and Botheim got his second in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Viking sent in 31 crosses to 11 and had 40 touches in the Sabah box to 14, with 2.68 expected goals to 1.49. The win, their first of the league phase, lifts them to 22nd on four points, inside the play-off places; Sabah are 31st on three.

Positions one to eight: straight to the round of 16
Positions nine to 24: knockout play-offs
Positions 25 to 36: out of Europe
The league phase runs to eight matchdays, so four remain. The top eight at the end go straight into the round of 16; ninth to 24th play two-legged knockout play-offs in February for the other eight places; 25th to 36th are out of Europe altogether, with no drop into the Europa League. Clubs level on points are separated by goal difference, then goals scored, then away goals scored.
Paris Saint-Germain lead Real Madrid on goal difference, plus 15 to plus six, both on 12 points, with Arsenal third on 10. Then come nine clubs on nine points, from Como in fourth to Borussia Dortmund in 12th: Liverpool hold eighth, the last automatic place, because their 14 goals scored beat Club Brugge's 11 on the same goal difference. At the other end, six clubs on four points run from Roma in 20th to Bodø / Glimt in 25th, so goal difference alone currently decides who is in the play-offs and who is out. Slovan Bratislava are last, without a point, with one goal scored and 17 conceded.
